Willie O’Ree Receives Honorary Doctorate

Willie O’Ree, who serves on the Board of Directors of The Carnegie Initiative, was bestowed an honorary doctorate degree from the University of New Brunswick on Wednesday.

The NHL’s first Black player and Hockey Hall of Famer received the degree in absentia. He was represented by longtime friends David and Brenda Samson.
